Didn't know a clean amp could sound so Metal

This new Steel Panther pedal sure makes this clean amp sound good. Maybe my approach to tone has been wrong all these years? I need to try a clean amp and a good distortion like this one. It would solve a bunch of problems if it works.

And this has got to be the coolest looking guitar I've ever seen.

Actually a great distortion pedal.

Sounds like this:

You can come by and try one of my Twins. I think you'd still wanna run it into a closed back cab for better chugga chugga if you're after that. Twins, Quads, and Showmans are all available for pretty reasonable.

Distortion pedals have come such a long way in recent years. I still prefer amp gain by a mile, but there are some pedals that really sound fantastic with a good clean amp.
+1
I hold onto an Analogman DS1, Okko Diablo and Satchel's BB, because they're really good. They never get played, because I have 4 great tube amps and a Spark Mini.

The tube amps always sound bigger and better. But the pedals are fun!

I have to agree with this but I will say thanks to some really great pedals coming out over the last 15 years you can find one that blends seamlessly with your amp's OD tone if you do enough searching. I like to crank the amp and then just add a little of bit of transparent boost/gain for that extra sustain. In conjunction with your guitar's volume there are a lot of nice edge of breakup and mild OD tones to play with there.

I bought the original pussy melter when it came but never played it. Sold it when someone offered $500, couldn’t resist. I have a KSR Power Amp on the way that I plan to use with these “amp and preamp” style pedals.

I play a pretty snappy clean tube amp setup a decent amount and love throwing the proper OD or Dist on top. One of my favorites right now is the Hatter's OD by Griffin Analog.

Have Griff make you a Tone Ripper....based on a BE pedal. BE=Smooth.....TR=raw, pissed off. In front of a Superlead, the Vol control will act as a MV...set it to unity gain/Vol you have a nice 2 ch Marshall...plexi clean, and face ripper with the pedal engaged.

I went down a rabbit hole of collecting dirt pedals for a few years.

When I can’t crank my big amps, or just want something different; I’ll grab whichever one I’ve been favoring lately, and run it into my deluxe. I can noodle for hours while the wife is in the next room & thoroughly enjoy doing so.

Some of my best sounding recordings are a pedal into a DRRI. There is something about it.

Sounds good! I built the PedalPCB Face Melter and it sounds great.. has a hot rodded SD-1 type tone on the lower gain setting. IMO, the lower gain switch is like a hot rodded Marshall tone and the higher gain setting is like a Soldano. I've only used it with Marshall amps and that second gain setting is too much for them. I need to try it into a clean amp.

Do you think the Fenders will sound as good as that that Suhr? I'd really love to have a Princeton.

This, the pedal sounds fine, but i think you guys are hearing the monster playing with stereo fx more than you're actually hearing the gain character of the pedal
I have noticed that fx does change the tone a lot.. which makes a clean amp that much more interesting to me... especially since I wouldn't need a loop.

It's very viable tbh; 99% of the time when I hit jams I just bring my lil VVT 1x12 combo and my pedalboard

While I think his gear reviews are pretty straightforward & honest…

It’s easy to be fooled by hearing Andy make something sound great, then discover that my average playing doesn’t quite get there.

I think everyone feels this way compared to andy :ROFLMAO:

Honestly i can't really hear the actual pedal very well in this, tasty playing of course though

Haven't played a Bella, so couldn't say. Fenders aren't my first choice for a clean pedal platform, tbh. Princeton's are fun, tho!

That Suhr Modern Andy is playing is beyond awesome. If I had that in pink/black that would be so sick!
