Diezel and Marshall together (Tool riffs)

I just got back from Vegas, I saw Tool and it was amazing

I got a second mic today so I can finally record both amps together so I put together a Tool riff video.

Here's a clip of a better recording, the YouTube video is to compressed in the highs because of post eq.
The sound clip here I think might be the best mix I've been able to get.

Cool tone.
I like it.
But, Tool's guitar tone doesn't sound as "fuzzy" as yours.
Is that coming from the Marshall or Diezel?
I've read that Diezel's high gain tends to on the fuzzy side.
What say you?

The digital to audio conversion isn't the best because I am using a cheap m-audio interface.
I was using an apogee one that is much better but it's only one input.
I got the m-audio for free brand new in the box so I will gladly use it until I can find a better 2-4 mic interface.
I don't really hear fuzz though, it's not high gained at all and the older Blueface sounds exactly like his.

But hey I guess you can't make everyone happy..

I actually went back and compared some of riffs with the 10,000 days recorded album and they match up pretty good to me.
I am happy with it to say the least

If anything Adam's recording has more gain and compression than my recording

The core of your tone is pretty damn close! Just needs a little more hair on it and a little less fuzz, but man you're playing it well enough to pull it off.

Nice man! If there's only 2 things I've learned about trying to record Jonez tones it's:

1. Always start out with the diezel first, then bring the marshall into the mix. That Marshall can overpower the mix very quickly in my experience.

2. Never forget that that turd is always recording every amp individually, then bringing in different amp mixes for different parts of the songs, as well as the differently mixed and panned double tracks/triple tracks This is really noticeable in clips like the schism guitar only track that's out there. There is a drastic change in tone from the verses, to parts like the heavy breakdown part after that loud pinch harmonic. Point being, don't feel bad if you don't ever feel like you can quite nail it down lol.

That was all just general thoughts, didn't have anything to do with the clip really I thought it sounded good! I'd really like to hear the blueface by itself with the "JonezTonez" settings if you wouldn't mind sharing. I'm interested in hearing how it differs from the 2001 I got.
