Diezel Cab or Hagen?

What should be my next Diezel purchase? A front loaded 4x12 diezel cab with the G12k100s or a Hagen? I have a Herbert and I have two engl cabs. a standard and an xxl cab. They are the best cabs I've used but I haven't played through a Diezel cab yet! ;)

If it were me I'd sell both the ENGL cabs and buy the Hagen and a Diezel cab. Personally, I don't like mismatched gear and if I had no interest in getting an ENGL head again, I would see no reason to keep the cabs, and would prefer to have a matching Diezel cab instead.

Well I still have my engl fireball 100. I dont really want to sell it or the cabs :/ but I guess i could sell all 3 and get a hagen and a cab. maybe 2 cabs? I love gear and hate getting rid of it you know? :/

That is very true. I think if I got a hagen I would no longer even want to use the fireball hahaha. I like how dark and bass and mid responsive it is but there's no denying that diezel products sound better. Diezel Amplification: The sound of electric guitar.

A German 4x12 FL G12K100 with the Hagen

The V30's are nice also

Just sayn you can't go wrong either way

Some days are G12's, some days are V30's, most days are both :rawk:

German made FL all day. I enjoy the V30s but the k100s suit me better. and I have 2 in a box that I can throw in the cab and mix them if i want.

I really love the herbert. I want more brootalz. Ugh now I'm looking at vh4s too. Why cant they be alittle cheaper so I can just buy them all!!??

It's all good with Diezel

Personal fav as of late VH4/4x12 V30's and Hagen/4x12 K100's spaced about 8ft apart. :inlove:
That will get you in trouble everytime.

Hagen! Use your cabs as a reference for which Diezel FL/RL to get later. I A/B'd them and liked the RL V30 better than the FL K100 with the Hagen. But you're going to find a lot of different opinions. For your scenario I'd get the Hagen first and try it out with your cabs.

Tough call. Not being JUST the fanboi that I maybe have come to be around here, but seriously??? I'd dump the cabs and simply aim to get a FL-G12K100 4x12 Diezel cab and get the Hagen. I've got this set up and it's up there - it's holy graile material. There's little (no??) need for anything else.

I've run the course of a lot of gear - not saying my tastes are your tastes, that's not the point. But if you're already sold on the Hagen, that means you love it and know all about it. So why mess around?? Just get in there, cut yer losses, get on board for both and don't look back. Seriously. The Hagen won't sound as good through anything other than a Diezel cab (and even if it did, you'd always be second guessing it, wouldn't you???) and if you've got a Diezel cab, well whoop-dee-doo, so you've got the wheels but no engine :dunno:

You have a Herbert and want something heavier? I run an X of V30's and K100's in my German FL cab. All K100's was just a little too clean and dry sounding. Adding two V30's gave it just enough grit to sound the way I like.

I want more balls. I think a cab will give that to me. or maybe adding a hagen or vh4 will....

i guess with the engl xxl u have big balls.
i swapped 2 v30 for eminence gb12 legends in x pattern in mine.
that added low mids and took a bit the sharp trebs.
you should try this it's a cheap way to go.
then get a hagen as an addition.
hagen is not heavier than a herbert, he just has a darker voicing.
herbert has more bottom end.

Sorry, I missed you have a Herbert running Engl's my bad.

If it was me I would get the Diezel cab for starters with the K100's then try the X-pattern sense you have the V30's.

there is nothing to say against the pro cabs from engl - spec. the XXL.
ok, diezel cabs are better and lighter, but they kick easily mesa cabs.
just my 2ct

Thanks for your input everyone! I think I may start with a Cab and see if I'm happy with that!

Proxmax do you have any clips of you playing your Hagen? I would like to know more about what you think of it.

Thanks again everyone!!!

Alex

Ok thanks Proxmax! What kind of music do you play the most? What tuning are you in?
