Diezel D-Moll Channel 2 Boosted

Sounds very nice.

I don't boost channel 2 so I'm curious what you are using on the boost and what settings you have on the amp. I imagine the gain on the D Moll is set around or below noon.
 
Gain and channel volume are around noon. EQ are fairly flat, presence is around noon and deep a hair over noon. Boosting with Maxon OD808, sounds a ton better in room than iPhone can capture. Cab is Bogner 412 Straight cab with V30's. It's even more ridiculous into my Mills 412 which is loaded with X Pattern of V30 and Creamback 65

the thing I like about my Dmoll is that it is pretty tight with the gain below noon.

the magic in the amp is when you turn the presence up.

it gives the amp a much more alive top and mids, more marshall like crunch.

if i want a little saturation, I either use a clean boost, or a klon clone.

inititally, i didnt like the amp, but now that i have been learning it, it is quickly becoming my goto amp
 
the D-Moll has loads of gain, I don't ever see putting gain past 1:00, when boosting I keep gain around noon. the presence does add some snarl - the amp sound really big and in your face. for a bargain price Diezel...not too shabby :D

i see that you also still have a vh4, a later version.

I used to have a herbert for many years, and I think that the dmoll is the a great blend of a herbert/einstien.

never owned a vh4.

how does it compare?
 
hard to describe the tonal differences, I'd say the VH4 is more raw in the mids...when to my ears the D-Moll is more compressed. D-Moll has more gain to me, and more low end. I often play them back to back and it will take the ears a little bit to adjust. I'm running each Diezel with different cabs though (VH4 is running through Bogner Uberkab and D-Moll is on my Bogner rear loaded V30 cab).

They're different enough though. All channels on D-Moll and VH4 are very usable though where I'd heard from others saying channel 4 on the V was not to their liking. I like it...channel 3 still has that signature thing going on.
 
I wonder how the D-Moll and Einstein compare. I love the rawness the VH4 has. The Einstein is less compressed, though. More toward the typical feel of a classic amp (but still a Diezel through and through). That clip up top sounds great!
 
i owned einstien 100 for many years.

i would say the dmoll is bigger and firmer low end.

einstein with more mids.
 
I own a Dmoll and............. I love it !!!!
I prefer how it sounds with FL cab rather than RL cab, for the distorted sound at least.

When you have Dmoll and VH4, you don't want to look for something else IMHO
