Right choice dude - I own both Amps, but my VH4S is for sale ;)

...but it took me a lot of time to understand the Hagen-sound-concept...

what is the concept at your opinion . ?

MADFUL, you'll find something very unique about the Hagen... You can make it incredibly tight and percussive with just s light mute, it's almost surgical in its cut and pound. At the same time, you can lift the mute a touch a work more softly and this amp will grind out with a real loose feel.

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=100283&hilit=Hagen

It's the first amp I've had that's ever let me do both perfectly well. It's a remarkable feat in engineering and feel.

Cheers,
Mo

...what he said! :-)

...and: The Hagen works a lot better with EVM 12L speakers than the VH4 and I really like those E-Voice speakers better than V30s...

Dear Madfull,

I cannot compare VH4 with Hagen since I did not have the chance to play a Hagen.
I bought the VH4 just a few months before the Hagen was announced and I was quite disappointed about this because I think
I would have bought the Hagen instead of the VH4 if I would have had the chance. I am very pleased with the VH4, but I think
I would have been even more please with the Hagen ... if I could swap the VH4 with a Hagen, I think I would to it.

Sooo...what´s the verdict? Have you had a chance to test the Hagen properly?

yes man , i tested a few hours and ... the sound is INCREDIBLE , unlike the Herbert that i had , i'm fall in love , the the buttons of controls can give to you the sound you look it for , but i use and it's important for it ... a MXR ten band EQ .

it's definitely a gret AMP with great sound , The clean is beautifull , the crunch is ok but i prefered the one on the herbert , but canal 3 lead and four are AWESOME the sound that i liked to .

yesterday i played this on cover

What are you doing with the MXR ten band eq ? pushin or bumping up/down frequencies?

Allright, thanks alot for the input. I tried rehearsing with a Herbert yesterday and the sound was really good, but I need a second semi-clean/half-crunch channel so the Hagen seems like the better choice with that in mind.
Our bassist (who also plays guitar) has a MB Triaxis/2:90 rig and it´s quite fun to compare the different characters. His sound is very smooth and easy to play, but a bit dull and not violent enough for my taste. The Herbert had a really cool monster-like quality to it. It really growls and forces you to play better, which is great.
I wish I could get both of those sounds in one rig. Maybe with the coming Diezel preamp...
For now, the Hagen still seems like the winner for me.
As soon as the dealer can get it here I´ll write down a subjective opnion of it :)
