I just finished the mod on my metal zone and I'm having a tuff time dialing in a nice heavy distortion. does anyone have any suggestions on this? Im trying to do thick heavy riff type stuff?

I was going to order the parts for this mod soon. It seems that it doesn't really get a thick type of gain, but more of a mid crunch thing happening.

Makes it sound way the f better than stock, at least in this video. Supposed to take away that 'cocked wah' tone, open it up and make the gain structure more Diezel-ish.Dehumanize":368gvxzw said:

I'm really impressed with the way that sounds lol, I mean normally metal zones sound like ass but that's a huge improvement haha.

BTW, to the original post. I am looking at the mod and it says to replace one of the clipping diodes with an LED. This will give you a less compressed overdrive type of gain structure. If you are looking for the ultimate in high gain then this mod may not be for you. The effect varies given the color of the LED. Look up the specs for the specific color LED you used, you are looking for the Vf or Forward Voltage. The higher the Vf, the less gain and compression you get.

The tone itself is pretty cool, to be honest i need to not be poor so I can get everything I really want instead of having to mod pedals. I think with a nice compressor and a couple noise gates I'd be good. I'm so frustrated with my set up right now

Wow that video sounds pretty damn good. The clean tone is horrendous at the beginning, but the pedal sounds great.
