cool comparison...I'm curious about getting this for my D-Moll. I often use a clean OD boost, but I think this might allow me to use the amp more without a boost and increase clarity. Hmmm...

I have no D-Moll experience but I highly recommend this mod.

hmm Tone Monster in one of your previous posts you mention the tone is more open and tighter.. isn't open the opposite to being tight when talking about tones?

I think loose (flubby low end) is the opposite of tight
Compressed is the opposite of open- which would make sense on a DeKompression mod

What kind of guitar/pickups did you use in these clips?

Les Paul Custom with BKP Nailbombs(ceramic)

No. The Vh4 is a very tight amp stock. The mod lessens the compression making it a leaner more open amp, yet not thin. The compression almost disappears and the already tight amp gets a hair bit tighter. Ever played a Wizard? Ultra tight and ZERO compression. Same with VHTs.

anyhow.. sounds great to me.. the mod makes it sound more like a modern boosted marshall plexi kind of sound.. really lush..

Just posted a thread with clips of my Diezel Herbert with the Dekompression mod :) I love the mod, adds a cool tough to the already amazing Diezel amp.
