Personally i find the VH4 better than the Herbert simply because it's voicing is well suited for live use and in the studio. The Herbert is more of a studio queen - i did not like what i heard from the herbert live/in a mix - a JCM800 1x12 combo ate it for lunch in a band mix. It was quite shocking. It is easy to voice it to where it sounds great in a bedroom but sounds like ass in a band setting or does not sound like anything at all simply because it does its famous disappearing act
I only have played a VH4 and only briefly and only heard a Herbert. Between the two i would get a VH4, but overall i disliked both and prefer bogner's. It really comes down to personal taste and preferences.
