I played the Vengeance and dug it a LOT when set tight, but interested to see the differences between the highest gain channels on both amps.

I know the Arm is 3 channel, but is the second channel a mid point between the 2 channels on the Vengeance or is the 3rd channel of the Arm higher gain the the second channel on the Vengeance?

Which is more modern sounding?

My gut tells me I want the Armageddon more.

Actually the 2nd and 3rd channels are identical. They share the tone controls and Decimator but each has it's own GAIN, MASTER, TIGHT and BRIGHT switches so you can, in fact, set them to sound very different or the same or ?????

But is the second channel on the Vengeance voiced at all like the gain channels of the Armageddon?

Yes, they are very much alike.

So if I am interested in modern high gain tones, but really only need 1 high gain channel on an amp, and no real need for the ISP tech built in, I would NOT be missing much going for the Vengeance over the Armageddon? The price difference REALLY make me want to think the Vengeance will fit the bill, but reading the specs of the Arm make it sound more modern and brutal. But if the gain channels are voiced the same on both amps, then maybe I'm reading to much into things.
