So, I've got one of these units on the way. seems like there's a small group of users here on RT.
I was wondering if anyone would like to share some clips of their GSP1101? and perhaps some presets?

there's clips and videos on the web but not that many and they don't seem to be in many styles.

had one and a behringer midi pedalboard,

sold them both recently, and picked up a pod HD instead

i'm thinking the amp models for gainy stuff on the GSP are actually better than the pod hd, but for effects/routing the hd wins with 8 variable effects blocks for whatever you want, using it now in a 4cm

but back to your question ;0 i'd recommend 'singtall' presets on the digitech forums/database , useful stuff on there

and the beta firmwares are a must

I have an RP1000 (same brain) but I really only use it for the 4CM capability and I keep a clean boost in the stomp loop. Some delays and reverbs here and there and the wah/volume pedal.

When I first bought it I played around with the amp models and they were pretty good from what I can remember.

cool, I've heard of the singtall presets but I cant' seem to find any examples...apparently there used to be some videos?

I've already downloaded the singtall presets, mustbebeta updates/etc :D

I'm really excited about getting this piece!!!!

my biggest dilemma so far is if I should go for a SS or Tube power amp.
I'm one of the few people that don't feel any attachment to tubes. Don't get me wrong, i love a tube amp, but 9 times out of 10 I can get the sound I want from SS gear.

this is all i found, i'm guessing it's the same guy but not sure , doesn't sound too bad

using a mosvalve power amp

cool thanks for posting that. shame the guy with the "low tuned guitar" really isn't very proficient.

obviously, between that video and the demos/sound clips i've found online, it seems like this unit is capable of making the sounds I need from it.

Good thread, I just got mine last week and I love it! I'm coming from using an axe-fx for over a year so keep that in mind
Hope you got the Control2, it's the best part. What an awesome foot controller and it works flawlessly with the gsp1101.
I run it 4-cable with my mesa mark IV and it works better than the axe-fx did, the effects are decent and the amp models aren't quite as good but not really that bad either.
I found some really good youtube videos, I'll look for them and post.
Go here to update firmware when you get it - do that first!

no, didn't get the control2 with it unfortunately. I completely plan on buying one after I receive the GSP1101 as long as I don't completely hate it lol
but I really think I'm going to enjoy it.

what in the world made you switch from a Axe FX to this?

Believe it or not I got tired of tweaking! Took up way too much of my playing time. The axe-fx is an awesome piece of gear, there's no arguing that, but for some people a simpler solution is needed. I am one of those people. Even before the axe-fx II was announced I was wanting to get rid of it and just get a multi-effects unit. I kinda stumbled upon the gsp1101 and boy am I glad I did. I really like how the foot controller, software, and rack unit work together. The axe-fx always seemed like a chore to me, I had a midi-mate controller and hated the way it played with the axe-fx. Too many parameters and programming, too many decisions to make. The gsp1101 is much simpler and sounds decent.

cool vid, yeah that's some good stuff.

anyone want to share their favorite preset?? (Factory/yourown/someone elses you like a whole lot)

oh yeah -

when I receive my GSP I won't have an amp or a power amp.

which do you think will be better for checking out the tones?
I have a roland micro cube which doesn't have an effects loop, but it does have aux in jacks. which i believe makes it similar to just a power amp + speaker
there's also the "model" on the micro cube of microphone input
alternately I have a Logitech 5.1 surround system for my computer

edit: did some tests and I think I'm going to run in to the back of the micro cube via the aux in jack

Here's one of my vids. Patch 7-9 are my Preamp, the other sounds are the GSP - all direct into a Mac.

That sounds great!

Thanks, I like the JMP model with the V30 emulation and the 5150 model. And the loop works well with my preamps.

And here I've compared the built in cab sims vs. Red Wire sims.
Guitar into my preamp, which is looped into the GSP using its fx and the cab sim.

cool stuff. lots of good sounds there!!

do you feel that using the GSP live (into a power amp/cabinet) sounds as good as the examples you just posted going direct?
