Dimarzio Air Zone for heavy/high gain stuff?

It can work well. The thing to remember is that this pickup is massive mids. It has amazing high mid grind unlike a lot of other pickups. I use mine for high gain about half the time and the other half for nice cleans. Using the thing with split coils yields a very nice clean tone, not unlike a good single coil.

I had one in a Carvin Bolt. I thought it was average at best, but I really don't like any DiMarzio pickups.
