Mark told me it's like a Breed but better.... Anyone have any first hand experience with it?

I swapped out a Crunchlab for one about a month ago.

It's like a Breed that's better for lower tunings, IMO.  I like the warmth of the Breed in E(or Eb) standard.

So it would be good if you tuned down to D or C#,? (all the strings, not drop D....)

The guitar I have it in(Xiphos) is tuned to C# Standard, sounds killer. Way better definition than the Crunchlab, while not thin like a Deactivator. Very tight in the lows.

I plan to pick up 1 more for my other C# tuned guitar, to replace the Super 3 that's in it.

In terms of output, what pickup is comparable? The specs on the dimarzio website still make it hard to compare it to other brands. Would the Dominion have similar ouput to a Seymour Duncan Distortion? I'm looking to replace the Dimarzio/IBZ in my RGT320.

I don't think it's as hot as a Duncan Distortion, it's almost the same output as the Breed, which is more medium-hot. No where near as hot/compressed as a Dimarzio Super D or Super 3 even, think more Tone Zone levels of output..

I put one in my ninja. Swapped out an EMG 81 for it. Could NOT be happier with a pickup. Best one Ive tried, including MCPs, bareknuckles, EMGs, duncans. Ive got a breed in my EC as well. Ninja is tuned to drop C. Heres a clip through my 5150 212, plugged straight in, miced with a 57. Stock speakers, too :D. Limiter is set too high on the master track. That was the only post processing to get the volume levels up, so excuse that and the sloppiness...

Oh yeah, if you can imagine a breed with a ceramic magnet...thats basically what it is. A tighter version of the breed. Still has the same overall tonal character, warmth, and balance as the breed, and all the clarity, just tighter with a quicker, bitier attack, and the low end isnt as soft as the breed.
