Had one. It was cool for what it was, but never bonded with it.
I think the comparison to a JB is fair. Similar in many ways. Mid-focused too. Around the same output level, even. It's by no means a clone, but it's easy to compare it to one.
It's more modern than a JB, however. It's tighter, but also thinner. It's also more attack-y and slightly more aggressive. More Ceramic-y, if you will.
Seemed to me like the mids were shifted slightly. It wasn't as bitey, but rather, kinda more raspy and rude. Also seemed slightly more nasal, but noticeably less stuffy in the low mids.
I think the DiMarzio site describes it as "thick". It certainly wasn't to me at all. More of a modern, tight, focused pickup. Hot, but not nearly as much as some other ceramics. Mid-high output, I'd say.
