Dimarzio/Ibanez wiring, help me figure this out?

I've got an HSH setup, Ibanez INF1, INFS1, Dimarzio X2N. I've been using the diagram on Ibanez's site which works out O.K. for the first two, but when I substitute for Dimarzio.. I've got nothing.

I've got that EXACT wiring on my guitar, except that mine are INF pickups, and the single coil only has white and black. The white on my pickup is the white on the diagram, and the black on my pickup is the red. Is that correctomundo?

Now, on the bridge pickup I substituted stock RED for Dimarzio BLACK+WHITE.. stock WHITE for Dimarzio RED.. and stock bare for Dimarzio BARE and GREEN. Is that right? I don't have strings on yet and I just get loud and annoying shite when I plug in and barely any sound from each pickup. Also I'd be replacing the INFS1 with a Dimarzio Pro Track soon, so which colors would replace the colours on what I'd have now?


Any help would really be appreciated, because I've been searching google and jemsite posts with no real help.. And diagrams like this just don't fucking cut it;

What's wrong with the diagram on DiMarzio's site? The thing is huge, so it's fairly easy to see where everything goes. As far as DiMarzio wiring goes, RED goes to the switch (hot, input, whatever), WHITE and BLACK get tied together, and GREEN + BARE get grounded. WHITE and BLACK are used for coil splitting, series/parallel, etc. wiring, and it's what makes the pickup a 4 conductor pickup.

on your single coil, the white is the hot, and the black is the ground. So white corresponds with the red in the diagram, black corresponds with the ground which is white in the diagram.

on your hums, the red on the Dim is still red in the diagram, but I think the black and white together are the white in the diagram. Green and bare are your ground.

Like I said, the RED is on the 5 way switch, the GREEN + BARE are on grounded (usually on the back of the pots), and the BLACK + WHITE are generally tied and taped together. The BLACK + WHITE can be used if you want to do coil splitting or series/parallel wiring. DiMarzio's diagram lays all this stuff out for you.

from what I can tell, on your hums, the red on the Dim is still red in the diagram, but I think the black and white together are the white in the diagram. Putting those to ground with the switch, like in the diagram, should coil split. Green and bare are your ground.

Plug the guitar in, set it to bridge PU, and touch all the lugs with a small screwdriver or something. Those switches are a little tricky concerning which is actually the hot bridge lug.
