that pickup kills in woods like basswood and alder.
ive never tried it in swamp ash, could give it a shot though.
but if your strat is of those types, i'd say most definately give it a shot.
if they are woods like poplar, padauk, mahogany (very dark), i would look into something else.
that pickup also balances well with bright necks, so ebony/maple or maple/maple necks always sound great with it![]()
