Hi Have someone who playing Super2 and MM 1400.Whats the different between both in tone bass mid treble.Which have more output. Which is better for basswood guitar and hairy metal. Regards
I find my 1300’s, 1400’s and 1800’s to overall be pretty similar, but the 1400’s is a bit more gritty/growly, which makes it my favorite of them. The others are a bit smoother. I don’t find any of them to be harsh at all. They all are very midrangey, but I don’t feel they lack bassBeauty I see.
Is it 1300 l have different sound between 1400.I hear that 1400 is more bright and don't have much bass.
Which is harsh chrisp with more hairy.
Or not much different.
I'm curious how you manage the microphonics? Or am I just dealing with an unusually noisy 1300.I find my 1300’s, 1400’s and 1800’s to overall be pretty similar, but the 1400’s is a bit more gritty/growly, which makes it my favorite of them. It’s been a while now since I last played any of my vintage MM’s admittedly. I’ll give it another go and report back, but I don’t recall it being super noisy in my setup. I do have lots of other vintage pickups that are very noisy/squealy under a combo of lots of gain, treble and volume, but I can usually manage it with my phalanx noise gate and I also by 2nd nature now haha do that volume roll off thing like Psyches did. I also noticed sometimes with literally the same exact pickup it’ll squeal a lot in one guitar and not in another, so I wonder if something about the wiring, pots or caps is affecting that or not, but I’m not a tech guy at all. Some of the cables and powerchords I use now help a little too, but
Hey, very nice of you to help. Please tell me something else. Which pick up is the most similar to the MM1400. Has Super Distorzion been painted? There are a lot of people who say it is because it has that hairiness that others don't have. Is Duncan Distorzion photographed more? Please tell me have much output mv 1300 and 1400. I know they have 8k and 14k but I can't find an outlet anywhere. The most similar pickup to the 1400 are the 1300 and 1800 unless I misunderstood you. I didn’t own a super distortion and MM at the same time, but they seemed overall very different from what I could tell. The Duncan Distortion is also different than those 2 in sound. I’m not sure if other brands beside Dimarzio measure output like that. I can just tell you all the MM’s I have sound to me very hot, saturated and compressed. Very over the top, but they are fun to play imo. I don’t remember my Super Distortion seeming as hot or over the topHey, very nice of you to help. Please tell me something else.
Just used google translate haha. I don’t know about the super 2, but I think the MM 1400 would work well, although I’d also consider maybe a vintage Bill Lawrence 500L or L90. Both of those are brighter and hairier than the MM 1400. I’ve kept all those pickups, but I personally enjoy my vintage Bill Lawrence’s even more and bet they’ll work well for what you want. Very hot as wellI was thinking which pick-up of all the other 1400 pick-ups is the most similar. They would give me a basswood guitar, and hairy metal would be better MM 1400 or Super2. I like the bright sharp and hairy distorzion picks.

I prefer ceramic. Is it vintage Bill Lawrence 500L or L90 ceramicJust used google translate haha. Yes the 500L is ceramic and I’m quite sure the L90 is too. It at least sounds like it to me. It actually in some ways has more bite than the 500L, but it’s not as over the top hot and compressedI prefer ceramic. Is it vintage Bill Lawrence 500L or L90 ceramic

Both vintage 1400’s and Bill Lawrence’s are great and I think have a good chance working well. I find the Lawrence’s can get more crisp and hairy, but I think both can get the job doneApsolutly nice of You.
You are very help me.
Probabbly i go with 1400 in lots of video have incredible chrisp hairy sound but not sure so I ask you.Very good go to invastigation Bill Lawrence.
If I want bright I way must have 8 to 10k
Not much more because it is maybe bassy.

Sometimes DC doesn’t tell the whole story. The 500L’s I’ve got range from 11-15k and none of them to me are at all too bassy. They are tight, crisp, bright and clear, but the later 500XL and Dirty Finger’s can be like that and are generally a bit higher in DC. The L90’s are tighter, clearer and less bassy than all of the above pickups mentioned. They are excellent imo
