From what I heard it is basically supposed to be a rg100es copy with a few small differences. Boost the front end and let er rip!

Have you played an old RG100 or Century 200? Better than those?

You know I think Martin knows something about them…or maybe it was Dan…. I remember talking to someone about them and they said they were damn close to getting that sound…

It’s been years but I do think it’s better than RG or same but I like the Century 200 more from memory . But I do have a wizard like dime used and to me that’s where the highs and shiny tone come in on CFH and Vulgar. I definitely hear the wizard adding that

I been waiting for Martin to chime in . But it’s a cool amp fr

I never got compared them, but I owned an ‘86 RG100ES for a few years and have tried that Dime head a few times. From memory it was at least in a similar ballpark to the RG and I thought it sounded quite good for the price. I even liked it more than some expensive tube amps that I actually did compare it with

I agree with a boost it does pretty good

Both myself and Bloodrock had that amp when they first came out. Very much like the OG Randall head. Not as bulletproof tho. At the time we had a C200 and a couple of X2 warheads that were way better sounding with much better headroom, so we were pretty dismissive about the Dime head. The weirdest part of the Dime head was the ability to have both the clean and distorted tones running at the same time. You could turn them both on with the switching pedal and mix the two together with the volume knobs. When I mentioned that to Elliott at Dean HQ he said that was the way it was supposed to be. They were super inexpensive when new and a great deal, but lots of them were broken by the time they got to the customers.

So far it’s doing well knock on wood!.But it is staying in one spot

Wow, never heard anything about them having problems. The old randall rgs would survive a warhead. < Get it?

I have one. Bought new from GC with some betting winnings. Amp is cool for what it is. Very lightweight solid state. Michael Batio used them for awhile. He dialed in a very bright tone and used a boost. The side handles are supposed to represent “DB”.

I mentioned it in another thread here but not long after these came out I played a show with Crowbar (famed RG100 users) and they were using these. Sounded exactly like Crowbar always does.

They've since gone back to using their old Randalls (at least at the shows I've seen them at since then) but the Dime heads hang for sure
