so used my Sansamp GT2 for years for going direct to the PA for some gigs. Looking for something different. Kinda checking out the AMT boxes - any other suggestions?

I love the Tech 21 Character pedals. They sound every bit as good as the top end modelers out there, and each one can be bought for around 100 bucks.

TC Electronic VPD-1. Basically gives you a clean and dirty channel with a deferrable speaker sim.

There's a YouTube vid of a guy playing a PRS into the Kotzen Tech21 Flyrig direct. I thought it sounded really good. Better than most guys live tone I hear.

Strymon Big Sky has a speaker cab on it. It's not a direct dirt box but you can throw any preamp style OD in front of it. I use a Tumnus, J. Rocket The Dude, JHS Andy Timmons and a Bogner Harlow for squished cleans. It took 3 practices for someone to notice I didn't have a amp or cab.

This. The Tech 21 RK5. It's the Richie Kotzen sig version of the Fly Rig 5. Incredibly portable and has delay, reverb, dirt, clean, and even a boost. Lots of great tones in the RK5.
