Anyone else post something then revisit the thread later and see your post is missing? This seems to happen from time to time, probably once per week for the past several months. Anyone know what's going on?

Not sure. I go in and delete pages of threads. But the super old stuff from like 5 years ago.
Frees up storage for the site to upload pics.

no idea....your not the first to notice it though....

Wait, you do or don't delete old threads? Didn't seem clear from your post.

I go and delete threads from 2006... 2007.... etc.
Have to free up room on the forum so people can post new pics/uploads etc..

The only posts I revisit are the ones with Dan in his Valentines lingerie.

I noticed all of reza threads that I posted in are gone

You delete posts from others, or from yourself?

From 10 years back it's everyone's. There are over a 1000 pages of threads. That's just the main section. If you look at a page from back then I don't recognize any of the members

Lot of talk about the BRAND NEW Marshall JVM 410 though.

Hmmm... Not sure I agree with that approach. If there was a publicized forum "rule" that threads older than XXX could be deleted, then it would make sense. Or, if there was a public forum announcement that threads older than XXX would be removed on a given date (to give users time to refer to/save what they wanted), that would be cool. To just arbitrarily delete threads that are "old" doesn't seem like a solid strategy.

I get that there is probably a lot of data, but storage is relatively inexpensive these days, even at a hosting company. The forum owner should spend a bit of cash to allocate a couple more TB's of storage to the site, or notify users of potential deletions.

Just my .02...

Not a problem.
Pain in the ass trying to free up space anyhow.
Plug is pulled on that. ;)

I was gonna say I don't agree with that either... unless we're talking about deleting threads from the Off Topic forum.

Numerous times in nearly the last decade have I googled a gear related questions, just to be re-directed to Rig-Talk. Why lose valuable information?

Yeah. Won't touch the main.
Just gonna hit the old classifieds from years back.
They are the ones with the most pics.
