Wampler Pinncale have served very good for a number of gigs, extremely amplike and natural feel from it.

Is it noisy?

had the chance to compare it with a Riot?

Not very noisy, depends how much gain you use of course.
Haven't had the chance to try a Riot yet, but it sounds very scooped in the mids compared to the Pinnacle from what I've heard.
The contour knob on the Pinnacle is really effective to voice your mids.
