Yep, I love my Savage Drive too. Almost flipped it, but spent more time with it. Using things sparingly yields the best results, since every knob can get pretty drastic. I don't even get the level to noon.

I love the Timmy but I wish it could cut just a tad more low end. Killer circuit though, it doesn’t do the crispy mids thing which can sound great for the right application but it can be annoying too.

For tight metal boosting, I’ve never played anything that sounds quite as good as the Kranz Krankshaft. I couldn’t believe how good it is actually.

EQ in the loop works for most of my amps, my one flubbier amp gets an OD or boost in the front. EQ in the loop never goes off.

I don't like to rely on too many tone crutches, so usually just one or the other depending on the amp.

A good steak doesn't need any BBQ sauce, or that much salt & pepper.

I got a cheap MXR Classic OD pedal that sounds about as good as a Maxon 808.

This is a great pedal. Basically a GT-OD /ZW-44 for much less. The internal switch toggles beteeen the two modes.

Agreed.

For a decade before these tailored pedals existed I used all kinds of fancy rackmount/pedal eqs to cut bass/highs and boost output decisively.

I always found added clipping in front of HG amps tone sucking.
