Do you stack amp heads?

I try and avoid doing this, and usually just buy a 4x12 for the heads to sit on, but lately I am running out of room.

Paranoid that the top head will take a fall, or that it will mess up the tolex of the head under it?

Amps I’m not using get stored in a zipper carry bag and stood vertically off to the side.

I’ve been known to stack. I typically don’t own amps that I worry about marking up though

I used to stack two Twins on a dolly. I cut a piece of plywood and made a cutout to fit over the handle so they could stack flush. It worked good. I wish my tolex was more trashed I'd have Wayne cover it in that snakeskin stuff.

Mesa actually gives you 4 felt pads to put under the feet for stacking. But, they are slippery adding to my fear of pulling a head off and crashing it to the floor.

I might just try some leather or suede to use as pads.

I'll go 2 tall on a 4x12 but 3 tall is a bit too high, for my setup it's a bit too cramped to have them up there.

I use Billy Bookshelves from Ikea, but if stacking I think leather coasters are a good bet.

Just watch for leaning transformers due to bent brackets from the gravity. Seen it happen before.

They won’t lean if you’re not slinging or slamming them. Been doing this for 25 years,
