I would think that if your glucose level is good, the carbs would give you some energy, right?
Yeah, I think it depends a lot on your body type and metabolism. I would suggest experimenting until you find that optimal blend of carbs, fats and protein. I personally skew to the carbs and fats, but have to admit a good steak (seared hard and next to raw inside) is one of my favorite foods.

Overall caloric intake is crucial too — both limiting and making sure to have enough depending on your activity level and goals.

This sounds like better advise that most will find in a doctors office.

What is your thoughts about "ancient grains" as they are called now like Einkorn and Spelt? Are just all carbs bad for you?
Well, everyone is different. I advise everyone to be a scientist in your own life. Be 100% responsible for your health. The doctor is not going to fix you. It's time to end the "ask your doctor" bullshit.

Myself, certain carbs, DEVESTATE me. Pasta, bread and anything with gluten basically. I'm not gluten free either, I just try to make decent choices. I eat pasta, I get EXHAUSTED. I hate being exhausted, so I don't eat pasta any longer, unless it's going to be late at night and I'm going to bed either. Yeah, don't eat before bed they say, but for me, this works.

I've switched to gluten free tates chocolate chip cookies, even though chocolate cripples my sleep. I made the mistake the other week of eating some of my kids chip a hoys. OMG, I felt like I had bone cancer when I woke up.

As far as carbs go, I'm not anti carb, but given the choice, will go for a complex carb. Sweet potatoes, even regular potatoes (though not complex).

Fact is, we're being INTENTIONALLY poisoned. Big tobacco suffered a loss years ago with the anti-smoking campaign, so they bought up all the food companies. They found another way to poison you. All these major organizations that tell you what to do. AMA, diabetes association, etc... are ALL FUNDED BY BIG PHARMA. All of them.

Here's a general tip. The more hands man has had on a product, the worse it becomes. I don't know much about grains, other than the fact that most are fortified. Fortified = FUCKED WITH. Now why the fuck do they need to add chemicals to grains? Because they want you sick. I eat a lot of peanuts (in shell) and other nuts. I use to do steel cut oats. My wife loves the quacker chemical oats with maple chemical sugar in them. She's a nurse, she should know better. But all the nurses she works with, are the most unhealthy people I've ever seen. All with table ass, reverse biceps, waddle like penguins when they walk and there's nothing but SHIT FOOD everywhere at her facility. All the old folks with Alzheimer's and Dementia have their pick of various shit foods, ensuring that their prognosis goes from bad to worse and nobody gets it because the education system is owned and funded by big pharma. I hate these fucks. They should be executed IMO.

IF saved my life. I do 19:5 and because of that cured 40 years of heartburn and stomach problems and gas.
Psyllium husk, red apples, ginger and oat meal do wonders for your gut / digestion.

That's a whole another topic. Gut health, pooping and digestion.
Pro tip. If you spend more than 2 minutes on the shitter in the AM, there's a problem.
I consider myself an Olympian as far as shitting is concerned. I fixed most of that with IF (Intermittent fasting)
My 1 shit per day is about 1.5 feet long, slides out the back like the Jamaican bobsled team going down the swiss alps with tapered ends like the toothpaste commercials. Two wipes and done, no endless smearing of shit all over my ass. Nice and clean and slimey poop that requires minimal wiping.

I agree on all points and have experienced many of the same issues, including having a nurse in the family.

Carbs seem to give me some pep but I do all pesticide and GMO free wheat and pasta. We grind our own Einkorn wheat berries.

I can't imagine eating chips a hoy, I would probably vomit. It's been many years now I gave up processed foods.

And Bob's Redmill makes good oats and Vitacost.com will ship right to your house free if you spend over $50.

I have no idea how anyone can make it through the day after eating one of those. Boggles my mind. Or a bagel.

For the most part I eat pretty good, but I’m not against an occasional treat. It may change as I get older, but I can’t say I notice any difference after eating crap.

I limit McD’s to road trips only. Maybe an occasional soft serve.
If I drove by one on a regular basis I would probably get it more often, but for the most part I have to go out of my way to get to one, and I don’t like it that much.
