Does anybody use the D-Tuna anymore?

I remember about 10 years ago the D-Tuna was a pretty big thing. I haven't heard anyone even refer to it until very recently when I was bored driving interstate and my mind was going through its backlog files of "slightly silly things" to try and entertain myself and I remembered it. Anyone still use one?

I do. I have one on 4 of my guitars. I think it is a very handy tool for quickly and easily going into drop D and back.

Just installed one on my BC Rich ST iii. They are very handy.

Have 4 installed I think. It's a must-have to do gigs with my band.

They are very useful. Nothing even slightly silly about it.

I have one on 3 guitars.Set it up properly and it works perfectly!

I have them on seven guitars. Use them every day.

I have a few guitars with them, and while I never knew what it was like to have one installed until I got it, I now cant see not using one anymore. they are just handy to have

I don't play guitar everyday. But when I do I use the D-Tuna by EVH. ;)

So yes. I use it and have it on 6 out of 8 Floyd guitars. And one without has a floating trem so it wouldn't work. The other is a Kramer 5150 replica I built and it wouldn't be period correct. I do have another D-Tuna new on the box. So I could add it if I wanted. It'll find a home someday.

Yeppers...killer feature that made guitar playing mucho-better...IMO. ;)

Never tried one personally.

I mostly use drop tunings and in the event I decide to go back up I just tune it by ear or a tuner. Takes about .78 seconds to tune up or down by ear as long as bandmates aren't being assholes and a pedal works fine.

Never saw the need for one but I can see why others may use one if they frequently change tuning.

I am curious though does this thing even work? It drops or raises your tuning 100% accurately?

Yes it's very accurate. It has a micro adjust to dial in it just right.

You can't just tune down to D in .78 seconds with a Floyd and locking nut. The purpose isn't to just be more lazy when down tuning. It's to solve the problem of detuning with a locking nut.

I have one on nearly all my Floyded guitars. I don't play in drop D all that often, but it's nice to have it there for when I want to.

+1

I have D-Tuna's on four guitars. My band doesn't waste any time between songs so the D-Tuna comes in handy several times a gig...

I also have a bunch installed on my fiddles. So convenient. I use them all the time, my buddy guitarist has to change guitars while i just flick it. H ha.

Awesome invention.

Hated mine (came installed on EVH Wolfgang), never returned to correct pitch when used no matter what I tried, removed it.
