I just got an android phone, and this Pandora radio is pretty awesome. Does anyone know of any good stations that I should check out?

I listen to it all the time. metallica radio for the gym. alternative country is a good station as well for some chill music.

Can't go wrong with a Joe Walsh station ... that is if you like Neil Young, of course

Seriously, every station I try, they throw crap at me that I do not want to listen to; even after rejecting a lot of it, they still manage to toss in something I want to immediately burn from my memory.

Overall though, it's a good 'net radio app

I used to use it all the time. I've moved on to Grooveshark though, much better.

I love pandora!

Except I wish they'd play less mainstream songs and artists so I could be exposed to something I might like but would not otherwise be exposed to.

Oh yea! And Slacker radio.
I have an Iphone;) Not to mention i work at At&t part-time.
Killswitch engage at the Gym!! Sometimes Andy timmons radio or whatever i feel like.

This is what I'm hoping for.

I used to use it...but they really lack obscure artists...

I enjoy Last.FM, because it throws stuff at you that are likely unsigned bands, yet have great music. I enjoy it.

Haven't tried grooveshark or slacker though...will give them a spin!

Yup I use it all the time. I like that I can make my own station(s). So far I have my Joe Bonamassa/ BLuesRock station and the Van Halen/Dokken Hair metal station...

I've been using Pandora for years. I didn't even know that there were preset stations! I create my own. Thats kinda the whole point. It might be that you can't create your own stations w/ the android and/or iPhone app? I've got and use the iPhone app, but I created my stations a long time ago online, so I never tried from within the app. If you can't do it over the phone app, log into their website w/ a pc and do it.

For example, for one station I just put in the artist Steve Vai and I caled it Vai Radio. The first song will be a Vaqi song, and then it will be stuff somewhat like Vai (Gary Hoey, Satch, Greg Howe, Michael Lee Firkins, Andy Timmons, etc.). I have created for myself (among others) Vai radio, Mahavishnu Orchestra radio, Megadeth Radio, Pantera Radio, Django Reinhardt Radio, Ry Cooder Radio, Blind Blake radio, Robert Johnson Radio, etc. You just put in an artist and it does the rest.

Well, its kinda a crap shoot. I tried to make Michael Landau Radio and they didn't know who it was, but I have some prog radio stations and they have some obscure artists (ex. one I like that shows up every now and then is a band called "Barky" - never heard of them before Pandora). They do have a LOT of the old shrapnel shredders though which may or may not be obscure to us gtr players, but to the general public they are very obscure. :-) I get some relatively obscure artists on my Ry Coder and Blind Blake radio stations every now and then too.
