Does the GSP-1101 suck tone?

Just ordered one of these form GC. They price matched + did an additional
$50 off for the green-tag sale, so I thought I'd try it.

I mainly need delay for leads, and maybe a rich chorus/flanger/compressor for clean.
Other FX would be useful, but not if the unit ruins my amp tone!

Anyone have thoughts on this unit? It would be replacing a silver-face intellifex.
(which I find harsher than my old black-face intellifex)

I don't think it does, I hope.

Some guys at HugeRacksInc. have the GSP1101, they may be able to give better feedback.

no i have it with my diezel vh4 and im using the controller2 also w it. great unit.

IMO, yes it sucks tone.

Actually, the Blackface intellifex is REALLY tough to beat for simple series reverb/delay/chorus with minimum tonesuck. If your amp is quiet, the Blackface intellifex is SILENT (and I'm not even talking about with the Godforsaken HUSH Noisegate circuit.)

Did you use it in parallel?

In series with a power amp, it took the chewy haunting mids of my Fish and M4, and turned them into an RP-10 complete with "grunge" distortion.

using it 4 cable method in the switchable loop of vh4...series

Damn that sucks.

Well I guess then if it's used as its own preamp, with a poweramp and cab, the tone will be ok?

I want to run one in stereo with my MarkIV.
