Does the Rocktron Patchmate 8 Floor "write" like an RJM unit

I am asking not because I want to take my RJM units out of the chain, but because I am going to need the normally open switches that the Rocktron unit has and the RJM Mini Gizmos do not. I wanna keep my pedals in the RJM unit and just switch things on and off with the Rocktron. So does anyone know if the Patchmate writes the same way as the RJM gear or will it function more like a GCX?
 
Why not use a RJM mini amp gizmo for switching?
