I have a Bigsby, not a Floyd, and I always keep it tucked out of my way. I haven't used a tremolo since I busted the arm off in my strat enough times it was all stripped and wallered out. The poor man's fix it is to do all the tremolo work with your hands you just don't get to do those Jimi/Eddie/Joe/Dime divebombs anymore.
