What are the main differences that would affect the sound/tone when comparing a Marsha to a marshall or a marshall plexi clone? (Besides transformers) Is the tone stack changed in the kitchen sink mod, from what it was on a given amp, to what it would be in a Marsha? Are the potentiometer values the same? reason is- Ive been able to hear a few examples of different amps with the kitchen sink mod and some have more gain and bottom end than others. Some sound more classic with a creamy mid range woody knock and some sound like metallica master of puppets... curious about what makes the same mod sound fundamentally different depending on the donor amp used.

The transformers and the capacitors used through out the amp and if it is circuit board or hand wired. All the amps sound pretty close because that is what I hear. The amp can do many sounds depending on the player and type of guitar or cabinet or how it was recorded. So if you hear Metallica on a clip if you have a different player come in and dial it a bit different with a different guitar you may then have VH coming out of it. Dave
