Double white or ivory is different from double crème

The "ivory" looks like cream. Or are u saying as long as they call it something other then cream it's all good? If Seymour Duncan called it double French Vanilla they could do it?
No, the ivory is like off white, white is bright white. Nothing is double crème from another manufacturer (unless it's made out of the country or in really small quantities here I guess)

This doesn't look like "off white" to me

Seems like some of the smaller companies still do it under the radar. It's not worth the legal fees for Dimarzio to go after the small players like GFS and such.

Blade bobbins, not pole pieces or screws.

I used to order double cream Duncans hidden under nickel covers all the time but Duncan stopped doing that a while back. So now I just make my own DC Duncans when I need them, recently made a DC Perpetual burn. Just order a zebra and reverse zebra of the pickup you want with no logos printed on them as a shop floor customs (no upcharge for no logos) and swap the coils and you have a double black to sell and a double creme to use. Sure it's a bit of work and extra cost but there's always a way if you really want one.

If that is a GFS Crunchy Rails, I've got one and I really dig it. GFS makes some great sounding pickups for cheap. I've got a Mean P90 from them too, but I have yet to put it in a guitar.

I believe so...I'm no lawyer though.

I've thought about doing that, how hard is it to do ? I've never had a pickup apart.

Quite easy really. Unwrap the tape, desolder the wires that connect the two coils, unscrew the coil from the bottom, swap them, screw the new coil back on, solder the wires. Now at this point you can try reflowing the wax with a hair dryer or heat gun on low which has worked for many people that do coil and magnet swaps, but I usually just re-pot them since it's easy enough with a double boiler and some wax. Then wrap the tape back on. The longest part is waiting for the double boiler to melt the wax really. The rest is easy if you can solder and are mechanically inclined enough to undo some screws.

I would like to mention that it is easy to ruin a pickup by potting if you don't know how to do it properly. I use approx 60% paraffin and 40% bees wax when I pot. This way the wax doesnt get brittle. I drop it in the wax and watch the coils to make sure they get hot enough for the congealed wax to melt...but not warp/melt them. Then I give it another 30-60 seconds moving it around to release the air bubble and I remove from the wax and let drip dry. When I mean congeal I am meaning that when you drop a cold pickup into hot wax, the wax congeals around the cold pickup. I wait until you can see the congealing go away while submerged in the wax bath. Furthermore, I only beat the wax enough for it to melt. I use a coffee cup filled with the wax mixture.

Please note that the actual coils still retain wax from the manufacturer, so the above process is basically for potting the unit together. I do realize that the coils will beat up and reflow the manufactures potting.

Also, some manufacturers use some pretty serious stuff and you could ruin the pickup if not careful. I think Suhr uses some very hard substance.
