What is the Wilcox?
Then I hear ya.. still a sweet playing guitar though. What pickup are you going to put in there?
It's a Langner dcp1 clone - which is on basically every single bay area thrash recordWhat is the Wilcox?
Yes I wasn't crazy about the lighter rosewood on mine either and it is quite a bit darker than yours. But the feel and stability are there for me. Fretwork was excellent and consistent. I really like Edwards even if there is some discussion as to where certain models are built, assembled, and finished/ quality control checked. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right. It is, I'm actually really surprised at how nice the fretwork and neck are! I don't care for the light color of the fretboard either, but it is pretty dry, and I'm not precious with my gigging guitars - I'm super excited about how well it plays though. @Fiesta Red wasn't lying, it's easily the equivalent of any US Gibson V I've played, although not as nice as a custom shop or m2m
I've got @scottosan makin me a zebra Roxy, which is going to be much more my speed (as in, traditional speed metal) - Fuller, less weedy, but still super tight. The Roxy is the best 24.75 scale pickup I've ever come across honestly, at least for the types of tones I go for. It absolutely kills. I do like Wagner stuff quite a bit for lower output, and the Aldrich is decent too. Weirdly, I love the sh-14 but hate the sh-5 - go figure.

When I first built these I was testing the tone by playing the "Unsung" riffPage Hamilton used a dcp1 for a while too, I believe

Chris from RKL makes a ton of sense too, he's always had one of the best punk rock tones in human history

Congrats, nice scores.
it’s a proven fact that Flying V’s are the coolest of all guitars.
You can call a good portion of that V cream or off-white but we all know it’s really tan.
