Dover Amplification Anyone?

Been seriously looking at the DA-50. I’m coming from the Friedman camp. Just wanted to start a thread as what I heard from NAMM was pretty stellar.

I was super interested and had my finger on the add to cart button on Reverb until I emailed them. They weren't rude or anything...just didn't come off as being very customer service oriented. One line generic responses to my questions. Might not be a factor for some, but I'd rather give someone else my cash who puts a little more effort into gaining my business. Shame because they look like cool amps. I'll just wait for them to start circulating on the used market if I get the itch again.

I ordered this back in Feb and finally got it last week. It's great but I don't hear the low end chunk that Jer Evil got in his namm video. FYI Jer your demo was the sole reason I bought this amp cause I was so impressed.

I use my eq pedal to dial in some low end with it though and it's great.

It's fucking loud even on the low 7 watt mode.

I don't think I'm saying anything that nobody hasnt already figured out but this is the same amp as the Fortin Sigil which is made by dover, has the same switching, gain stages, layout etc. It even has the same box but says Fortin instead of Dover.

Fortin is 6V6 and Dover is EL84

I bought mine from Axe Palace. When I told them they said yeah they don't come with one but I pointed out the description from dover and on axe palace website lists one. They are supposed to be sending me a free one.


The only reason I noticed it didn't come with it is when I watched a Fortin Sigil unboxing video (same box) and dude pulled one out and I was like wtf I didn't get one with my Dover.

They must have JUST changed that because it didn't say sold separately before and their reverb ad still lists a footswitch. I'll bet a bunch of people like me bitched. Axe Palace doesn't say sold separately so they didn't change their site yet.

Yeah man, I want to see these guys succeed for sure. I liked the amps a lot at NAMM and always love to see new stuff in the market.

Was it a sealed box? Those cocksuckers like to sell demos as brand new, and short you on stuff. I bought a "brand new" Fireball 100 from them, and it showed up in a Mesa Boogie box with no power chord, no manual, and no extra tubes that come with a brand new Engl! And it had foot marks on it from another amp being on top of it. Fuck those cocksuckers... Don't get me started...

$100 says you'll NEVER see it. That guy lies like a rug.
