Wow! Even just the free version is great. These guys really know what they're doing. I might be looking in to getting the full version before too long.

Looks pretty cool indeed.. the cab impulses are getting better and better. Might need to mix some of these in with my real cab when I record in Sept.Does it come with diff microphones in the free version?

The free version is just an SM57, a vintage 4x12 model, and an EL34 power amp. You still get the EQ and simple compressor. Overall a great free version IMO. I'm surprised they give you as much as they do for free.

Just to answer that : I found that our products were violently attacked on some US forum, mainly by people related to competitor companies. It appears that most of the attacks come from people who never tried our products, trashing it just because of the price (or because their customers are selling their stuff to by ours...).

Well, the price is based on the factory cost mainly. Maybe we will produce some chinese stuff and everybody will love it. Anyway, the PI-FREE is a part of what you can do with the hardware product, like a demonstrator. Based on that, anybody can have his own opinion and decide if we sell wind or a real pro tool. ;)

About the plugin, please come from time to time on our website or read our newsletter, we have updates on the way (the 64bits version was just released, even for the PI-FREE).

I'd have say in my eyes, it's better to stick to your guns, than to cave in and make a cheap Chinese device. I respect the price you guys have set for your products. If you look at the cost of a good load box, the the cost of a good power amp, the the cost Of a good cabinet, you're right in line with what those items would run, probably a little less. Then there's the whole simplicity of not having to set up mics and such.

You forgot the studio-class converter. ;) Actually most people don't see that, and prefer to object that a Pod or other "all in one" products can do the same for less. ;)

I downloaded it as well. I am very impressed with the product. I was however supremely disappointed that I cannot use it with guitar tracks in Garageband. For whatever reason they do not allow the use of AU files unless it's a software instrument. I used it in conjunction with bass tracks I recorded using the keyboard and it sounds fantastic. If I'm mistaken and there is a way to do it please chime in. I think it is time to upgrade DAW's maybe go with Logic. What are you guys running?

I use it with Garageband all the time. I use Pod Farm in one slot without cabs or mics and then use PI-Free in the next slot. It shows up in the Audio Unit Effects selection for me. It's a great product and makes any sim I use better.

Yeah I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was selecting Electric Guitar from New Track which does not offer AU files. I selected Real Instrument and then my interface in Instrument Setup and I can now add AU files. I'm going to try running my M4 through it next. I am now ecstatic about this setup!!!

I need to get onboard with direct recording. With all of the free programs available and other tools to help idiot proof things for total recording noobs like me, there really is no reason not to do it.

What should I download to get started? I would be using a RP1000 direct in with a USB for the tones. Thanks.

all of the two notes equipment and software always sounds fantastic whenever i heard it. The price is very fair for what you get.

Hey all! New to the forum and the ways of Torpedo... I'm using GarageBand and cannot get the plugin to work. I've tried doing what was suggested earlier in this thread with no luck... Help please! Really interested in this product. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me.

Start a thread in there and ask for help.

I downloaded it a few weeks ago. It's very good and the price is right.

I wish they had the smaller bundles on special too. I've contemplated the Torpedo CAB, I just don't know how much better a solution it is than using the DI into the DAW.
