I currently use a 10-48 from dunlop(heavy cores) for D standard and they are great for my taste , but I want to try every possible strings in this kind of gauge.
As you might know 10-48 in D standard feels like a 9-43 in E. When I bought this heavy cores I saw DR strings 10-50. They were identical to dunlops except the E string which is 50.

What do you think about them ? They are handmade strings , so they are priced a bit more than regular.

They are my all-time favorite string...by a significant margin. To me, they seem to have a thicker sound and slinkier, more "rubbery" feel than other strings of the same gauge. They last longer than any other non-coated strings that I've tried as well and I break them live far less than any other string that I've used over the years (EBs, Boomers, D'Addarios, and Blue Steels were my main strings prior to discovering Tite-Fits in the late 90's).

I used to use DR tite fits for years. Unlike Rupe, I found that they had a stiffer feel than Slinkys or D'Addario. They lasted a long time if they didn't break, problem is I had a good many break on me.

I have since switched to D'Addarios and Curt Mangans. Recently I tried a set of the DR pur blues and liked them. DRs are good strings, but like anything I prefer what I am using now.

I used to use DR Tite Fits back in the day and really liked them. I found they kept they're tone longer than most. I had the opposite experience that Blackba had in regards to breakage; I switched from D'Addarios because they were breaking on me quite a bit but never had that issue with the Tite Fits. I prefer the DR Pure Blues over the Tite Fits, though. Awesome strings. Can't go wrong with either imo.

I use them on all my guitars. I've tried a lot of brands before them and DR absolutely rock. Very well balanced across the whole frequency range as opposed to other brands which tend to have bumps on different frequencies. Everything comes out very well defined. You should definitely give them a try.

I'm DR Strings endorser, but not because they came to me. I went to them, actually, because i believe strongly in only endorsing products you believe are the best, and I love DR strings. I currently use Tite-Fit 11-50s.

I like Elixir nanowebs better than any string I've ever played. I realize this has nothing to do with the OP's question, but somehow I still felt compelled to mention it.

I've been using DR Tite-Fit and Hi-Beam strings for years. I switched to them after trying most of the usual brands. I found that their life-span was considerably longer and they sounded great.

No harm in discussing stuff, but I can't help but wonder if you ever just take a chance and buy a set of strings or even a handful of pics ?

I've got exactly that 10-50 tite-fit set you mentioned on my Eb-tuning guitar. The strings last a long time and sound decent. I would want to try the DR Pure Blues strings too, if I could find them somewhere around here. I had been using Dean Markley strings for many years, but when they stopped producing the SLP sets I switched over to DR strings because I didn't like the Blue Steel sets most stores stocked here.

The DRs are decent strings, it's really up to personal taste whether you prefer them over another brand, so try them out and see...

DR's are one thing I've used the longest. Just like the feel.

+1 to the Tite-Fits

they 'feel' new for a long time and then - when you put a new pair you're 'Holy Fack'!....these are awesome

i 'grew up' on them over the last few years graduating from E to Eb to Drop D to C and am pretty stuck on 11:52s :D

Thanks guys !

They will give different tone ? I'm asking because they are round core while others are almost hexagonal core.

I used them for a few years and really liked them. I switched to D'Addario mainly for the fact that I have/had too many guitars and couldnt afford them anymore

I say just try them. Strings are cheap and replaceable. I thinking about giving EB a try just for the hell of it after I wrote them off years ago...

Anyone had dead strings from this series ?
I mean string in which intonation can't be set properly.
I'm now really pissed. I bought 2 sets of custom gauge tite fits ( 10,13,17,28,38,56) and well I set the neck bow , strings height and intonation. All was good until I tried to set intonation of G string (I play in drop C so in standard e it will be A)... One big bitch. From 1-8 and 15-24 frets - perfect intonation , but from 9-14 ... 10 cents lower ... Messing with saddles didn't help anything. And I remove the string and put the next G string and ... All was perfect ! Brilliant intonation.

Anyone had similar problem with this DR Tite Fits or any other brand ?

And oh , I have a TOM , not tremolo ( DR recommend other way of mounting on tremolo bridges)

I dislike DR strings for this reason & quit using them. I used to swear by them for years & years. Either I got a bad run in several packs or I was doing too much coke at the time and forgot how to properly string a guitar.

I'm using Ernie Ball or D'Addario. EB's on seven string & D'Addario on sixes.

I like DR strings generally.
My favourite being the DR Pure Blues
They feel and sound the best from my experiences with that particular brand

This.

I used Tite-Fits for years and was happy. Then I ran into a bum run that would not intonate. Hence the switch. I will not go back.

i had this experience as well. i LOVE DR strings...the way they feel, sound, and how long they last. i really like the coated ones (Black Beauties!) but i had about 3-4 packs in a row that had bad G strings. they wouldnt intonate and just sounded dead right out of the pack. all other strings were fine, just the G string. 3 of the packs were 11-50s (tuned to B standard) and one was a 9-46 pack (tuned standard). i even tried tuning the 11-50s up and still had problems with the one string, so it wasnt the fact that it was tuned down so low and having trouble intonating because of that. they were just bad strings period. which really bummed me out...my buddy told me thats why he quit using them. hes been using DAddario for years, and i bought a few packs and am now a full-on DAddario user. i buy them in bulk, and have not had one bad string, no breakage at all, and they last pretty long despite being just plain strings. i still prefer the DR feel, but im not going to spend my hard earned money on something that i have to worry about whether im going to get a bad string or not.

and i havent broken a string in years...i think probably upwards of 20+ years, no matter the brand. i think part of that is i broke myself of playing with such a heavy hand...both picking and fretting
