It was amazing and ever a greater thrill for me as I went with my 16 year daughter and met the band.
The show was amazing, the band was so tight.

I asked Petrucci if he was using the Mark V and he said that he's using the Triaxis. He used his new Sig model and while I didn't like the look at first, I admit that it's pretty cool looking.

Overall, a night to remember :)

You got to meet the band AND have a daughter who likes prog/metal? Winning!

I saw DT in Ottawa a few years ago outdoors. I had no idea they were opening for Iron Maiden, when they finished after only an hour I was disappointed. :aww: I would've totally taken the day of yesterday to drive up to Montreal had I known they were that close.

That's cool Phil! I took my oldest son last tour and had a great time.

I'm going to see them in San Francisco. Looking forward to it! It's nice to hear Petrucci's back to the Tri-Axis. I always preferred that gear era tone-wise from him... not that his tone isn't always killer, that's just my fave.

Really cool. Saw them at their last American show with Portnoy. Can't wait to see them with Mangini.

Im going to see them in Red Bank NJ on the 31st cannot wait, I've only seen them a few times and never for An Evening with.

philb, yes, really cool, I know that feeling watching DT... :)

Wife bought tickets for us to go to the show in Milwaukee in a couple week. Haven't seen them in years, so I'm looking forward to it.

Nice! Im going to go see them in Chicago in a couple weeks. Petrucci is also doing a clinic earlier that day at a GC, so Ill go check that out too. I noticed they are now playing the same set each night, otherwise I would have bought a ticket for Milwaukee the following night.

What about the recent set list? Did they perform some 90's stuff? Thanks.

They are doing the same set they did in Europe. A lot of new songs as well as a bunch of Awake and Scenes from a Memory (since its their 20th & 15th Anniversary)

I saw them two years ago for the first time in a few years and was blown away! Did the meet and greet and got so put my hands on the stage the whole show as I was -at row middle! Being that close was like having a private show as the stage wasn't too high. Mangini is great on the drums. One of the aspects I miss a little with Portnoy being out of the band is the mixing up of the setlist (on purpose) so fans traveling (or in the same city tour to tour) would get to hear more variety. The fist four times I saw them in the same city I didn't hear the same song twice! I understand them wanting to have a tighter "show" with more visual elements and staging however I think the majority of the fans at a DT show are there for the musicianship and don't care as much about that other stuff.

With that said they still put on an excellent performance that rocks. I would see them again and highly recommend them to anyone interested or on the fence about going.
