I've used alot of BKP's and this is hands down my favorite. Not sure if its the pup in general, or just the way it works with the Edwards V. But I'm now considering trying one in my Charvel as well. The name "Nailbomb" makes it sound like a brootz pickup, but its very versatile and has a PAF vibe to my ears.......similar to a Duncan Custom 5, but much tighter lows and more mids. Alnico 5 and measured at 15.6K

While I was in there, I went ahead and upgraded to CTS pots and new caps. I love this guitar

Love my Nailbomb!
Pairs really nice with a Mississippi Queen in the neck if you're so inclined.
I have to agree, it sounds like its really pushing the preamp, but in reality the output level is average.
Just very full and harmonic works well clean too where higher output pups can have a problem.

Those Edwards V's are cool. I really like the old school rounded headstock on them.

After using several BKP´s in my all maple LTD baritone, i got the nailbomb, and this really is the best option i´ve heard in this guitar....all other pickups sounded weird in the highs and extremely stiff, the nailbomb is just perfect! it must be that it is alnico and the others were ceramic

Nice! BTW, is an Edwards neck thinner than let's say a Gibson neck? I'm eyeballing an Edwards V myself but I want to know a bit more about it before I buy it.

I've owned 2 Gibby V's and the neck shape on the Edwards is pretty much identical...........a cross between 50's and 60's. There are a few other differences though:

The Edwards is light years ahead of the Gibsons as far as set-up/tuning stability goes
The Edwards has the neck elevated above the body............like the old V's
The Edwards has smaller frets and block inlays
And you get the rounded headstock and the addition of pickup rings

All of the above are big pluses in my book.

I found a home for my Ceramic Nailbomb in my heavy mahogany RG fixed bridge. Didn't care for it in my Basswood RG or my Bernie Rico. Sounds amazing in heavy mahogany. Finally a setup that meets the internet hype of BKP's. I'm still searching for other cool combos in my other guitars. Would love to try a Alnico Nailbomb....

i cant rerember... but .... is this a thin or thick neck?

Its on the thicker side.........but not as thick as a Gibson 50's. Compared to my American Tele "Modern C" shape, I would consider it thick..........and way bigger than my San Dimas flat/thin

I love my BKP Alnico Nailbomb that I have in the bridge of my ESP NTII (I have a Cold Sweat in the neck and it is great shred pickup). My fav higher output pickup so far.   Very versatile for many styles of rock/metal.
