He was the guy in the 2nd row holding the I-phone.
You funny
Just bustin balls Jim....you always post the good stuff.
I just like to make light of everything. :D

Yes. He is good. I would love to hear these guys without the hair band thing muting the open strings though. How clean is their actual technique?

Watched it twice....guy is really good.
Makes me want to practice......

NAH!!!
I enjoy hacking on weekends. Never be a shredder. ;)

Hair band or not hes damn good...hair band mutes a bit but he still has monster technique come on! lol

My favorite part of his demonstration was his use of dissonance and chording. Nicely done!

Why use a hair band when you have monster chops like that. I'm not that good and i don't use one.

Watched this again. Guy is really good. Seems to have been influenced by Jeff Loomis. The ending cracks me up

I met James in person the other day. He played at the Suhr Factory Party. Tremendous player and a even better guy. Completely humble. Find him on FB (James Norbert Ivanyi). His album came out this past October, it's called Aphasia :)

Anything at the Suhr party really impress you? I want to play Pete's new am and I would also love to try a Modern Carve Top setneck

Dude says in one of the videos he started 6 years ago  Shit... He progressed like a mofo

Yeah I believe it!
I was better at 18 (playing every day for hours practicing) then I am now at 43.... :aww:
Get out what you put in.
I just like to play for fun these days. Back then I wanted to shred!
Forget alot of stuff when you dont play for years on end. :(

yup same here...My chops were much better in my early twenties than they are now at 46
Started playing at 17 but that's all I did for the next few years sometimes practicing 6-8 hours a day...shit now I go for 2 years hardly playing at all lol

Hey guys, James here, first post! Thanks to Jim Thompson for inviting me to this awesome forum.

Thank you very much for your kind words guys, I really appreciate it so much.
It was super to meet you Greg Riley at the Suhr party!

The string mutes I generally only use for recording only. It's handy for completely eliminating any unwanted string noise. Since that video I'm now using the Gruv string mutes for recording, pretty nifty little piece of kit indeed.

:)

I'm not a big fan of how the hair band thing looks. What I'm saving money for is to buy a spider monkey that sits on my headstock and holds the strings so they don't ring out.
