Dumbloid or Big Bloom Pedal w/ Marshall Style Amp

Anyone used the Dumbloid or Big Bloom pedal as an overdrive with Marshall style amps? I heard Pete Thorn's review and it was great. Also, I see the Richie Sambora is using the Dumbloid with his Friedman Brown Eye. I'm just conscious as to whether these are pedals that should be played through a clean amp.

I'm interesting especially in using it for creamy, compressed and sustaining lead tones.

They're probably better suited to a loud clean amp but you'll never know until you try. The Big Bloom is cheap enough and you could flip it without losing too much if you don;t like it.
