anyone compare the two? I own the Distortion and love it so far. about to get the 500T . for drop tune metal? I am holding off a litle bit on the WCR pup as i need to get one more cabinet first.

The closest Duncan to the 500T would be the Duncan Custom.

comparing the two now side by side. even though there are totally different woods in the two guitars, the duncan seems tighter and a little less "gainy" . and a bit cleaner. where as the 500 seems a bit hotter, and a little more .....maybe......"squishy"
that sound right to anyone?

anyone else's distortion seem kinda undefined on the lower strings? mine just seems kinda dull on the a and low e. its in a basswood ibanez btw

I thought the Duncan Distortion sounded pretty awful in the RG570 I played.

that's what i have it in too

well, its a 517 (same as a 570 but with a special finish)

when i played the duncan in a LP, it was tight and defined
