Hi people, I've got a DCR-1SR almost new. The guy just told that rack was bought and kept in closet for 10 years without use. It really seems new.

As every owner of it knows it has 3 outputs: Dry, Dry/wet and buff/wet (each of it turns on a led in the front pannel when you connect it).

Now that I have free time to test the unit I found out that using the Wet/dry output I got no wah effect (it's working as dry output). When I press the foot controller switch nothing happens.
The only way for me to get Wah Effect is using the Wet/Buff.
But I don't want to use that buffered output, I just want to use Wet/dry output which is unbuffered.

Does anyone know what could be the issue? Maybe am I making anything wrong?

I'm testing it plugging my guitar straight to Dcr's input. Then dcr output to amp's input (both connections with mono cable). Then I connect the foot controller using a trs cable.

I've open it to check the PCB's solders and nothing seems to be unsoldered. Do you think that could be an issue with Wet/dry output jack?

I'll really apreciate all info that you can bring and I'll really thanks, since there's no trustable techs in my area.

I would first use some contact cleaner on the jack. If the unit's been sittin around for years theres a good possibility theres some dust on the contact. Shoot some directly in the jack and on the tip of a 1/4 cable and work it in and out repeatedly. Do this a couple times and make SURE youre using contact cleaner not wd-40. That would make the problem worse. Also use cleaner type with no lubrication.

I have not thought about contact cleaner!!! I have some which I clean my tube amps sockets.
I'll let you know what I found out.

I've cleaned the jack with contact cleaner and I'm having the same results

A friend with some electronic knowledge came home to see it by inside. He made some prooves using tester and he's told me the w/d is in short :( He need to investigate it to see what's making the short

I thought it was the output 1/4" jack, but he said it's working right, he is almost sure that it's a transistor but he took it to make it some more tests. I hope he can find a solution on it. I'll let you know as soon as he call me in some hours

My friend was working all day on it, he found out that one "integrado" (I don't know the word in english, is one of that spider with many pins soldered to the PCB) was not working. Unfortunately that component is not able in Argentina. So he made some bridges and add some things to make it work properly.
It sound great and I'll be able to use it at studio tomorrow.

Thanks for all inputs dudes!!

I've also got an answer from Dunlop Tech support:

Hey Adrian,  It's difficult to say for sure what may be causing the issue, but it
sounds like the switching relay may not be functioning properly. The
relay that controls the switching for the Wet/Dry output is U12, and is
 a HE721C1200.

Unfortunately I didn't find the replacement for that piece, only in a site of Australia. It worths 7u$s but shipping 235u$s, crazy prices. I'll need to use it with the mod these guy did to make it work
