Anyone tested these picks? I love the black Jazz III' but I hate how slippery they are. Ultex ones are fantastic because of the grip but there's something on the attack or tone of them that I don't like as much as on the black IIIs

cool picks but they are just too small for me to play with.. :(

I wish they made the Jazz III with the same thing that the Cool Picks use. Those are nice and grippy. Just going by the picture, those still look like they won't have much grip, but I'd be interested in trying them.

Wierd, i have no problem gripping the normal Jazz III.

+2..been using the black ones for 20 years now but maybe I'm just used to them :)

Me either. The Ultex definitely stick better but they suffer more drag on the strings, plus they sound a bit dull. Generally I use the blacks although I've been toying with a red one recently so really, either is cool. Slightly different tone and I prefer the black but I'd use either over the ultex.

According to a fellow on another forum that had contacted Dunlop, these should be out in September.

I love them. At first they felt too small. I was later left with only a jazzIII and really fell in love with them. I feel I have more control with it. When I play with a normal pick it feels very awkward. Almost 2 years I have been using the jazzIII. I really want to check out new ones. What is the difference between the red and black ?

One is red...the other black....  J/K. AFAIK, same materials different dye in the melted plastic vat. I have both red and black randomly distributed in my guitar cases. I hear no differences personally. Disclaimer: I don't have "dog" ears either.

They're not the same material are they? Black is 'stiffo' whatever that is, and the Red are nylon.

I got some samples of the reds (unfortunately none of the blacks).

You guys are gonna love these things. The grip is mighty, indeed!

ive been using the ultex ones myself, they seem to have more "pop" when compared next to the blacks or reds. some might prefer the more smoothness of the regular ones tho

I think the Ultex sound a bit chunkier? The blacks are definitely smoother over the strings to me though.

I really wish the regular Jazz III had smoother edges like the Eric Johnson version. The EJ plays so much smoother than the stock Jazz III. Do the Max Grip's have the ragged edges?

I think Ultex plays the best out of all the Jazz III's....lots of fun, but it sounds too damn dull :(

I have to order some now. Anybody have problems with losing picks all the time? I go through picks like crazy and not from playing them. I lose the damn things constantly.

What size are the EJ's?
Are they medium or heavy??

I think the EJ pics & Ultex are both heavy and a tiny bit larger than the regular Black & Red Jazz III. IMHO....
