Hi all,

could those of you who have experience with the Dunlop rackwah please share your opinions ?

I'm also very interested in hearing about the build in volume function.

The manual says it has a relais true bypass. Is it transparent when switched off ?

The Jim Dunlop site mentions a price of $ 600,- , over here in Europe the only one I could find is priced at € 1350,- , a huge difference that makes me consider buying online in the US. Any recommended dealers I should check ?

Order one straight from Dunlop because you could get one from there which is suitable for your country's voltage. If my memory's not playing games with me I think those go for $599 at Dunlop's Custom shop. That price includes one controller pedal.

I think the DCR-2SR isn't as noisy as the DCR-1SR. Forumite Monty (4nkam) owns both of them so he can give you some opinions about those two.

I believe from 4nkam's posts as well, try a search on this, that they dont mention it on the site, but if you insist, they will convert the controller to a switchless wah...if your into that.

Yup, if you're interested, they can convert a 1FC controller to be switchless and you can still use the other 5 pedal locations with normal 1FC pedals.

The 2SR and 1SR are both pretty cool units and fairly close in tone. The main difference is that the 2SR has an extended EQ range, boost, Q control, and a red fasel inductor. To my ears, it sounds a bit more fluid and modern. And yeah, the bypass is pretty clear, so no worries there. The 1SR is more like your basic crybaby 535 (not the 535Q since it has no Q control) but with the additional EQ control.

The cool thing about the 1SR is that the board is just like an old crybaby with normal sized components. That allows you to modify it to your liking such as putting in an adjustable q control or just swapping that resistor out for a higher one to make it more vocal sounding.

But the 2SR can dial in pretty much anything you want. I actually haven't used the volume control function and I know some folks on HC were having some troubles getting it to work properly awhile back. I should have a volume pedal arriving within the next week or so and I'm gonna definitely try it out at that time

I was expecting for you to chime in, Monty. Lots of good info in your post.
Please, do post a review about the volume control thingie after you've tested it.
Have you already found a Triaxis? I've been waiting for a new 2:90 for almost 3 months now and I have no idea when will Mesa be able to deliver me one.

No Triaxis yet...I've seen a few up for grabs for decent prices but I've held off cuz I'm still pretty happy with the Studio/Quad and there are a few other things I wanna get first

I'd be definately interrested to hear about your findings regarding the volumething. I was thinking maybe I could use that volume "dial" instead of my current volumepedal between my GP3 and the 2/50/2.

So I made the step and ordered one directly from Dunlop at $599 + $120 shipping. Out and in the door in 3 days !

So far I really like it (obviously); all the controls let me dial out all the things I normally don't like about a wah, it stays surprisingly full sounding while wah-ing. haven't tried the volume thingy yet because I don't have a volumepedal available at the moment.

The bypass is quite transparent but taking it out of the path entirely (through a looper) works better

The RC3 is on it's way out...

Cool I haven't tried using the volume pedal for volume yet but it sounds interesting when controlling the wah effect
