My bass player just got an endorsement with them at NAMM - they gave her the cable and we A/B'd it with her normal power cable - it was a lot punchier with the E.S.P cable - I was really suprised at the difference. I never did get around to hooking up my guitar rig.

There are quite a few DIY plans for making AC cords. I have one at home. I'm surprised this isn't discussed more often.

Yes, it opened the amp up made it sound better. I would compare it to getting a high end guitar cable (like Evidence Audio) vs. a basic cable.

I bet if you have a 14 awg, or 12 awg standard IEC cable it will make the same difference. The wiring in the wall is only 14 awg, so going any thicker then that is pointless IMO. I have some 14 awg cables that I got from work. I haven't ABd them, but in theory if your power cord is the same awg as what is in the wall then going bigger shouldn't make a difference.
