I wanted to post a positive experience I had with EarCarndyCabs recently.

First, I'm not a fan of soldered cabs; I like to mix and try different speakers and I don't solder--can't be bothered to learn. But I did learn that .205" female connectors are super snug/tight and you wouldn't have to worry about them every coming off the speaker terminal if you threw the cab down 80 flights of stairs. NOTE: Most wiring harnesses with female connectors use .25" connectors, and those are the ones that are somewhat loose once connected. You can get these .205" connectors from Parts-Express.

I wanted to change out speakers in my 4x12 and contacted EarCandy for their 4x12 harness. I asked them to do 14 awg + the .205 connectors. I got the harness in about a week and it was beautifully crafted. I was a little confused on how to wire it, because it was a different series-parallel harness than I had seen before, but these guys were very patient and answered all my questions promptly.

I would buy another harness or guitar cab wiring kit from them again. Highly recommend if you want quality internal speaker wire and female connectors. Customer service was top notch from end-to-end.

I know they had some bumps regarding service on the forums in the past, but my experience was fantastic.

It takes five minutes to resolder a cab. Not a big deal for me. One dollars worth of wire.

But if what you do works for you, more power to you.

Sounds like a publicity stunt. Most people AREN'T happy with that company! I wouldn't order a cab from them.

I wonder if they would sell a drop in replacement wiring harness with jack to replace the mono/stereo jack and wires in a Marshall 1960B? Have always wanted to mod my cab to get rid of the stock jack.

I have zero affiliation and they didn't ask me to post a review.I know. I was a little reluctant to order from them based on some bad service reviews from the past, but I emailed them first and these guys were quick and very accommodating. But this was a harness, and not a cab. I did it because I was impressed with the product and service. I've worked in CX / CS my entire adult life and when i get good service, i appreciate and don't mind sharing my experience. I've done the same for Dave Friedman (many times) and I stay on the line to take the survey when the CX phone rep gives me good service (or really shitty service, ha!).

Yup, I'm not at that point yet. was happy to spend my money that way and have someone else do it. I flip cabs/gear, and if the next guy is like me, he'll appreciate still having quality wire, super tight fit, but the option to easily replace without having to solder if he/she doesn't know how.

Ehh, he's got over 1k posts. I'm sure his experience was genuine.

Mine was definitely not but it is good to see a good experience from them.

I tend to swap out speakers a lot too, so I make my own harnesses with those same connectors a 14 gauge oxygen free copper speaker wire with a high strand count. I use heat shrink on the ends for a more polished finished. I rewired all my cabs this way.

Glad to hear someone had a decent experience with EA. They've been nothing but idiotic and riddled with problems for me since 2006.
