I have been thinking about some of my favorite solos ever recorded and was inspired to give this one a shot. I have always loved Hitch a Ride's outro lead. IMO, one of the best rock solos recorded. I used my Anderson Bulldog and Kemper Marshall JTM45 profile for the gain tones. I used a modified version of Ola's clean profile for the "acoustic" parts. I used just a bit of reverb for the gain tones. Man, it was some work double and triple tracking some of leads to sound good together.

I recorded it in standard tuning even though it was originally done in one half step up. I tried to use the Amazing Slow Downer but I thought it made it sound more processed. Soundcloud compresses the track/tones enough. Hope you like!

Bitchin'! Very cool Bostonian tones and I thought you did a great job - especially the outro solo. Well done!

That was sweet! Really nice job all round. Love that first Boston record. Scholz was (and probably still is) a genius. This makes me think back on the post with the link to the Steve Lukather interview. So many of the things he talked about missing from modern music is all through that Boston album.

Killer !

One of my favorites as well. An absolute gem overshadowed by the hits.

Bravo Zulu for your efforts.

Thanks Skoora! I have always been a fan of Boston. That first album is one of my all time favorites. I know they get dubbed "corporate rock" but I don't care. I grew up in Weston, MA. I worked at the local supermarket and Tom Scholz used to come in all the time. For the most part that guy has really come across like a douche bag (rightly so) but he was always nice and signed autographs.
