Eastman Guitars......

Shop about an hour away carries them. Expensive and made in china. Guy says they are Gibson killers. These things are crazy expensive for made in china. What am I missing here? They legit? No way I'm spending that on a chinese product when I can get top tier stuff for similar prices. Any of you play them? Legit?

I’ve had a couple but they didn’t stay. They are not Gibson killers imo but they are decent guitars. I don’t have much experience with Burny/Greco/et al but I doubt the Eastman guitars are any better than those. I agree that they are too expensive and not as easy to sell used as I thought.

I've only ever played one (LP-ish style) but I thought it was pretty incredible honestly

I had an Eastman LP Junior and it was top notch. I've owned over a hundred guitars and it was easily in the top five best ever for me. It was light, the Lollar pickup sounded great, the fret work was the best I ever had and it would not go out of tune. I didn't have single complaint about the one I had.

They are pretty much handmade guitars, which means they won't all be alike. Some will just be better than others. You know how it is, if a machine is making the guitars they will be close to identical. If humans are making them, you will find some variance.

I had to sell mine to cover non-music related expenses but I'll have another soon.

I had an Eastman LP Junior with the double cutaway. Incredible guitar and was really well made. I'd have no problems paying that kind of money for a guitar like that again. I'd like to check out their acoustics, as they have a good rep too.
