Its gotten really bad trying to deal with these clowns.......

Feedback(does it really mean anything anymore?)

If you are a buyer on e-bay and you decide to not pay for an auction,or if you leave a seller unwarranted negative feedback, its impossible to leave negative feedback to that buyer, as a seller. Its a joke and totally plays into the buyers hands. I called and asked e-bay about this and they simply stated that this is the policy and to deal with it if I want to sell my goods on there.
I have an Ebay store that I use to sell auto parts with. I work at a Dodge/Chrysler Jeep dealership and thought it would be smart to get into the online selling game since it seems more and more people are buying there goods this way, myself included. Ive already garnered 2 negative feedbacks from a few douche's that looked up the wrong items for themselves and purchased them and after recieving the parts left the feedback without any communication or asking for the problem to be fixed in any way. Of course EBAY can see that there was no communication from the buyer asking for a refund or the correct part, but they refuse to step in and make it right and remove the feedback.
Ive sold the same Ibanez roadstarII guitar 2 times in the last month and both buyers did not pay me. Can I leave negative feedback so other sellers can see what they are dealing with? Nope. Ebay policy. They say that as a seller you can block certain people from bidding on your auctions if you choose? What? How bout putting it out there for everyone to see? Why should it be hidden? It must be our sensative society we live in now. Its ok to fuck somebody over I suppose now?

Ebays customer service.......Have you ever tried to simply send them an email? It says (contact us) but all it does is send you to various links that try to answer your inquiry for you, without them having to really deal with it. So your forced to call and be frustrated by some robot/human that has little or no interest in really helping you get your problem solved. The people that answer the phone are all from overseas and they try to comfort you with names like Jill and Norma or Stefani, when you know there real name you wouldnt know how to spell or pronounce.

The fee's. Wtf? By the time you pay Ebay and Paypal and the shipping, there isnt a lot left on the bone. If your selling, your prices have to be competetive or people wont even give your product a second look. I remember when Ebay first got going, I was in there and selling and buying gear and other stuff and it was a great asset to the internet. Now I just wish it would go belly up and somebody would start something fresh and new and use a fair work model that works for all the people involved. It can be done.

There has to be a better way to try to sell gear. I used to have pretty good luck selling on here, but it seems anymore, that stuff just isnt selling. Rant over.....I feel a little better now :D

Yep, Ebay sucks. Even as a buyer there's so much trash to sort through. It's the price you pay for such a huge marketplace, sort of like dealing with WalMart. Their eyes are on profits, the more the better, with responsibility to the shareholder first and foremost.

Yeah it certainly sucks shit for the average seller but for buyers it's a pretty darned good place to conveniently buy a large array of stuff.

Reverb.com

Hopefully that place continues to catch on and grow!
The thing that sucks is, if it continues to grow; then there is the chance it becomes Ebay2   As of now, it is my go to place beyond the forums for buying and selling.

Yes ....for buyers its great! You have total command over the seller in every way possible with no repercussions to worry about. Dont feel like paying....no problem. In a bad mood and feel like taking it out an your seller on the Bay.....no problem, just leave some nice negative feedback. Nothing he can do about it.
I understand what your saying....where else can you go on the web and get that large of a selection of items from all over the world. That part is great. Thats about it though.

I've been on eBay for 14 years.....have had 100% feedback for most of that time, only a couple of clowns sent me negative/neutral for idiotic reasons. Have always paid my (excessive) fees on time, no major issues, etc. This past month, I was $30 short in my Paypal when they tried to pull my fees. Within a week, they had put my account on hold AND tacked on the $120 that was to be pulled next month, and demanded it immediately to restore my account. I called them and said I was planning to pay in a couple of days. I said I didn't have next month's $120 yet, but would be ready in time for the due date /billing cycle. They wouldn't help at all, and demanded the full amount now, or it would be sent to collections. This pissed me off so bad.....here I am during a rough time of year, asking if they could help just a little bit, and they just jump on me and won't let up. I paid what was due, but the other amount is sitting there. I'm gonna pay, like I always do, but I'm still contemplating closing my account because of their policy and attitude.

ebay was fun from 1999-2006 or so... I never use it anymore. I have sold two things on reverb and the sellers fee is what ebay used to charge back in 1999- very cool.

I haven't used Ebay in the last 4 or 5 years. Done with that site.

I'm about done myself.

Two recent scenarios of me getting fucked and having my money tied up because of a shitty seller.

Even people with 100% feedback can screw with you.

I don't think I'll ever buy there again unless it's a video game or something under $50

I only sell on eBay if the item isn't too expensive, or, I'm desperate to sell!

10% fee, 3% PayPal fee = too much!!

I just got some notice from them saying my account would be limited to selling only $1500 a month because they found out my account was linked to another account that had not met their selling guidelines or some horseshit like that. They were basically saying I am running two accounts. I never heard of the other user name, I looked it up and it doesn't seem to exist. I sent them an email asking them to explain and that it was ridiculous accusing me of using another username. Never heard anything back. Fuck em I won't sell anymore.

have been on ebay since it started nut the fees are unreasonable now and I agree, the sellers have to jump through hoops

I rarely use eBay now but when I do, I try to work a deal outside of eBay and work directly with the buyer/seller. I occasionally see people outright telling buyers to call or email for a special price. If there's no bids on the item, you don't get charged (maybe lose the listing fee). I'll routinely end an auction early and wait for the offers to come in. You can weed out the tire kickers pretty quickly.

Screw ebay. Never again. I sold my PV Wolfgang standard 2 months ago and the buyer decided that his mother was sick in the hospital so everything was on hold. What ? He refused to pay and then feebay wanted $120 for the sale. It took a week to straighten out and it infuriated me. Its become a Craigslist type low balling tire kicking site where sellers get jerked around and are forced to sell things for higher prices just to defeat the fees.

I had a guitar on Reverb.com. It sold and buyer never paid. Later he said he tried to communicate and cancel because after he bought mine found one he like better on reverb instead. :gethim:

I ended up trading it on craigslist for a new Remington 870 and 2 knives ..... For a $300 guitar :D had to drive an hour to Tyson corner to meet the father and teen kid but hey
