There aren't any EBMM dealers in my area, so i reach out to the board once again. I'm looking for a nice humbuckered shredder guitar with balls, sustain, easy harmonics, fluidity etc. Considering the nominal price differential, do you go with the axis or silhouette? why?

people talk about a small neck, which is a negative. I had a prs standard 25, and the neck felt too cramped

thanks

I would say go with a Axis im a les paul guy and am very picky with guitars the only guitar ive ever liked compared to a nice paul was a axis Rosewood, The neck was slimmer than a Les paul custom neck but far more comfortable, The tone was very dark but that of course was due to the rosewood, Ive played many axis's they were all built very well and sounded great.

A silhouette is more in the strat ball park which is not my thing so i wont comment :)

I love my 2 Axis (SS and Sport) but I have been playing Wolfgangs for a long time. The slight difference in the neck width makes a difference. But take the time to get used to it as the Axis neck plays like melted butter.

Go Axis. The Silo is geared for those looking for Strat tones.

I just bought this :inlove:

I had a Silo and I now have an early Steve Morse and the newer Y2D Steve Morse. I love the Steve Morse guitars...KILLER...but thought the Silo was a tad thin sounding...'could have been my rig setup back when.

I didn't find the Axis to have much of "shredder" feel. The radius and moderate action combined with the small neck and baseball bat thickness of the neck never seemed to lend itself to that kind of playing, for me, YMMV. It is a very, very smooth playing guitar though, and sounds fantastic. I will own another one at some point.

Since I got my Wolfgang I'm looking to sell my Axis. It is a 2006 and in near mint condition. I can easily remove the GK-3 midi pickup because I will want to keep that anyway. If your interested make me a reasonable offer.

I think my next guitar might be an EBMM Axis with a natural quilt top.

Oh, Oh. Price and Pics? :scared:

My camera battery died, but I had these pics from a while ago...as soon as the battery charges up, I'll get some new ones. The pickup in the bridge is NOT stock, (It's an Air Zone) but I DO have a stock Axis pickup I can put in, or throw it in as well if you would like that. It has an EVH D-Tuna on it, and just before my deployment I had it sent to EBMM for a new coat of wax/oil on the neck, setup, fret level...the works. I'll PM you with new pics and the price when the cam battery charges up!
