Do anyone of you own a Luke II or the newer Luke III?

How well does the vintage style trem stay in tune?

I'm thinking of getting a Luke III but I have doubts about the trem and its tuning stability.

I've been spoilt by OFR's and Ibanez Edge's all these years so going to something that's non double-locking is scary and very unfamiliar territory to me :(

I saw Luke with Satriani and Vai at a G3 gig last year. His EBMM was obviously less stable than the Edge-equipped Ibanezes they were using. Such gigs inevitably turn into self-indulgent wankfests later in the show and there were a few moments of "OK, that was fun! Right we'll just wait for Luke to tune up and then we'll get back into it".

That's exactly what I was afraid of.

I can go through an entire set with my guitars and the tuning will still be spot on. I have a feeling that I'll be tuning up after every 3 songs with the Luke. And I have seen Luke do it live. He's re-tuning after every 3 songs or so if he doesn't change guitars.

I mean, no one cares if Luke does it cos' he's fucking Luke but I'm a nobody in a cover band. No one wants to wait for me to tune up.

I had a liii for a bit. Fantastic guitar!!! The trem was great. I abused the crap out of it. Stated in tune just fine

How fine is 'just fine'?

Can you go through a set of 13 songs without having to re-tune?

Not sure about 13 gauge strings but i was able to dive all the way down and pull up without any tuning issues. Maybe had to tune the guitar every few days at the most.

Also, the transition pickups and preamp are awesome!!!! The neck is to die for too!!!

Anyone else with experience using the vintage EBMM tremolo???

i take them over edges now i have 9 ebmm had 40-50 ibanez japs
