EBMM Majesty for EBMM Sabre.. or a Caparison plus $500… trade??

Hi all, just looking for some thoughts and feedback… I have a 2018 Ernie Ball USA Majesty in their glacial frost finish. I got the guitar in a straight up trade for my old 8 string Carvin which I thought was a huge win.. guitar just seems a bit over the top for me since I’ve had it and been going back and forth with it as I’ve been wanting something a little more down to earth. Recently a guy offered me an EBMM Sabre HT in their raspberry finish for a straight up trade. Hoping I’m not screwing myself on trade value.. just curious what everyone else thinks… I also have another guy offering up a Caparison Dellinger FX Prominence with a fixed bridge plus $500 which also has my attention.. what would any of y’all go with? Would you keep the Majesty, straight up trade for a Sabre or take the Caparison plus $500 and why?

Keeping it more serious, EBMM guitars are very nice, I had a JP6 that was great except the bridge pickup was less than ideal. I am lucky to have been a machinist and sheet metal guy in my past as I had to re-bend and redrill the legs of a Dimarzio Breed in order to install it in their bullshit proprietary routing. They have DiMarzio make some special pickups to fit this routing and in my experience they take everything shitty about Dimarzio pickups and add exlax and under cooked taco bell to the ingredients to somehow make them even more shitty. So unless you love the sound as is, make the trade for the Caparison and take the $500 and get the import version of the JP.

I appreciate the feedback.. I’m starting to lean back into the Majesty honestly.. I hear ya’ on the pickups and I don’t really have too many complaints on the ones in mine.. plus there’s so many tone shaping tools at my disposal to get the sound I want, it’s not a big deal unless the pickups are straight trash on output.. for me (and this is gonna sound lame) it’s a looks thing.. I dig the color but the shape of the body is something I’m still trying to get into.. now the most important part of any guitar for me is playability and I will say this guitar’s neck and radius are the most comfortable I’ve the pleasure of playing on.. so that’s what’s keeping me onto this one. It’s just looks… like I dig the Sabre flame top, the body seems a little wonky for a Strat shape, but it’s still cool. Now that Caparison is hard to deny, although I don’t care for the body construction, how it makes you think it’s a neck thru but it’s a bolt on. Ah, decisions lol.. I do appreciate your feedback tho, gave me some stuff to think about and that JP6 looks sick!
